Some of our biggest jobs never touched a residential kitchen. Orchid Cleaning was engaged as the cleaning subcontractor to a general contractor on a large commercial construction project here in Polk County, with a crew on site every day for roughly six months running post-construction cleanup, plus the disinfection work the site's protocols called for at the time.

The short version: A large commercial construction project in Polk County had to keep building through the COVID-19 period under site protocols that called for daily disinfection on top of routine post-construction cleanup. Orchid was the cleaning subcontractor to the general contractor and put a 2–6 person crew on site every day to run both. The work was billed weekly at $4,750 a week, over a roughly six-month, 26-week engagement, for total gross billings of approximately $125,000.
Orchid's customer on this project was the general contractor, not the facility owner. Because the build was covered by the contractor's own confidentiality and publicity terms, we don't name the project, the owner, or the site. What follows is limited to our own scope, our own crew, and our own billing records.
Orchid had a crew of 2 to 6 people on that site every day, not once a week. Post-construction cleanup on a build this size is a daily job on its own: dust, debris, and trades tracking through the space nonstop. On top of that, the site’s COVID-era protocols called for daily disinfection, and Orchid carried that out as well.
The work was billed weekly, at $4,750 per week, for roughly six months (about 26 weeks), for total gross billings of approximately $125,000. That's a billing cadence, not a description of how often the crew showed up. They were there daily.
Post-construction cleaning at this scale is not routine janitorial work. It runs daily alongside the trades, it has to keep pace with dust and debris that never stop being generated, and on an active construction site the vendor has to show up every day without fail. A six-month daily engagement on a build this size doesn't happen unless a vendor proves out the work early, and keeps proving it.
